Punyam Aham, the film about people with dreams, living within those dreams… this film is going mark the birth of a spectacular era in Malayalam film industry with refreshing thoughts and rejuvenating ideas. This film is an answer to those critics who says that Malayalam films have lost its soul with the coming of new generation flicks, which lacks focus on serious issues and strong themes. There is one more reason to inspire the true Malayalam film fans. This film comes from the home of Malayalam literary laureate, Thakazhi Shivashakara Pillai, Who has moved his pen to write the evergreen classic of Malayalam industry, ‘Chemmeen’. Raj Nair, grandson of Thakazhi is the master behind the film. Raj is making his debut in full length feature film category with Punyam Aham.
Vararuchi, Panchami, Naranathu Bhranthan.. Keralities are very well familiar with these mythical characters. One may wonder the relation of these characters with Punyam Aham. Vararuchi, a noble Brahmin married a low caste woman Panchami. Naranathu Bhrantham is one among their twelve children. He was always in search of his ancestry. Like wise, the protagonist of the movie is in a journey in search of his roots. The protagonist was born to a Brahmin man and a low caste woman. The story takes this theme along with the impact of globalism on common people.
The lead role of Narayanan unni is played by Prithvi Raj and Samvrutha Sunil is casted opposite to him.
