Punyam Aham is a feature film by Raj Nair in Malayalam with English subtitles.Director Raj Nair is the grandson of the literary giant Thakazhi Shivasankara pillai, the Jnanpith winner for his famous work “kayar” and “chemmeen”.

Punyam Aham is based on the legend of Narayanathu Bhranthan, Vararuchi and Panchami, the film has Prithviraj and Samvritha Sunil in lead, and other casts include Nedumudi Venu, KPAC Lalitha and Mr.M.R.Gopakumar in other important roles.

The camera is handled by the State Award winner M.J.RadhaKrishnan and the background sore by Isaac Thomas Kottukapilly.

Raj Nair is professionally an oral medicine practioner who teaches the subject in Brisbane University, Australia. His debut work was a docufilm named Kaazchvasthikkal. It was on the loneliness of old age featuring his grandmother Katha.

The film is produced by his production company Mirabilia Films. His other projects also include a 15 min film in Thai named The Blind Mirror which is in English.

He has also done a 10 min Cantonese short film named “Masked Dreams” which has English subtitles.

Raj Nair is currently settled in Australia with his wife and two children.
