Shahrukh Khan to host the Indian version of ‘Wipeout’

The most celebrated ‘Khan’ of Bollywood, SRK, will try his luck in the upcoming reality show which will be an Indian version of acclaimed American TV show, ‘Wipeout’. This is an adventure-based reality show which gives more importance to comedy. The show is selected as world’s 3rd most popular TV show, recently in July 2010.

There already two versions for ‘Wipeout’, an American version and a UK version. The location for the US version is in a set made exclusively for the show in Argentina. The Indian version will also shoot there, and the pre-production work has already started. The participants and SRK will fly to Argentina for the shoot. It will be telecasted by Star TV’s India network.

When Sameer Nair, the head of the Star India Network approached Shahrukh for the show, he accepted the offer readily by expressing the fact that his children are really fond of the original ‘Wipeout’.

Shahrukh’s career started with Doordarshan, playing the lead role in serial named ‘Circus’ in 1988. After a long break he appeared in the second edition of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ in Star Network in the year 2007, but couldn’t gain the same popularity that Amitabh Bachchan achieved through the first edition.

Later SRK appeared in another game show in 2008: ‘Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hein’ and that also didn’t distinguish much. Still, Sameer Nair has confidence to bring King Khan as a host in the new one, as the actor is well known for his comic sense.
