The Movie Goers’ Special: New releases on Diwali 2010

Diwali is knocking on the doorstep and the festivities are ascending to prominent highs. Film producers are all set for the Diwali release of some of the most awaited movies of the year. So the question here is, why in the world would you stay home?

Let us start with highly anticipated movie release of the month, the Akshay Kumar - Ash starrer Action Replayy. The story revolves around a young man trying to save his parents’ marriage by going back in time, determined to make his parents fall in love with each other before marriage. We remember that the last time Bollywood tried to make someone go back in time; it led to the creation of the all-time disastrous motion picture, Love Story 2050. Have the producers reinvented the formula this time around or is the catastrophe going to be recreated? Find out by watching this Diwali release.

No stomach for science fiction? Alright. Coming to a theater next to you; thanks to Rohit Shetty’s directorial capabilities is Golmaal 3, the sequel to Golmaal Returns, scheduled for release on the 5th of November 2010. With the celebrations in the air, movie-goers are deemed to favor a family entertainer that will enhance the festive mood of the season. Owing to the grand success of its predecessors, Golmaal 3 has been a much-hyped Diwali release, with promoters all over vouching on a blockbuster status upon release.

There they are. The stage has been set, or rather booked, for these movie giants to battle it out this Diwali. Akshay Kumar’s effervescent screen presence and Aishwarya Rai’s stardom give Action Replayy a slight edge over Golmaal 3 whose star value fails in comparison. The songs of both Action Replayy and the Golmaal trilogy have made waves among the audience. Who wins? We let the box office decide.
