Movie remakes of Tamil ‘Singam’ and Hindi ‘3 Idiots’

Following the success of Ghajini, the movie remake of ‘Singam’, actor Surya’s recent hit in Tamil directed by Hari, is under production. Rohit Shetty, the director of ‘Golmaal’ will make the Hindi movie in which Ajay Devgan will play the lead role. Other actors including heroine are not decided yet. In Singam, Anushka and Prakash Raj were the other actors in major roles. Mean while Ajay Devgan is busy with two other movies, Priyadarshan’s ‘Tezz’ and Rajkumar Santhoshi’s action thriller ‘Power’.

Though he is the acclaimed director of comedy movies, Rohit is also familiar with action themes. His debut film ‘Zameen’ starring Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachan and Bipasha was an action thriller of 2003.

Reliance Big picture, the co producer of ‘Singam’ will produce the Hindi version.
Singam’s Telugu remake ‘Yamudu’ was a super hit. Bollywood can also expect the similar result.

Tamil movie world has also started a trend to remake hit films of Hindi. ‘Kanden Kathalai’ the Tamil remake of the Hindi box office hit ‘Jab we met’ got a poor response in South India. Now, Shankar, the hit maker, plans to remake ‘Three Idiots’, the celebrated Bollywood hit, to Tamil. Vijay will play Amir Khan’s part in Tamil. In the original movie, Amir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Madhavan and Boman Irani were in the lead roles.

The Telugu version of ‘Three Idiots’ is also in its initial stages. Actress Eliana will be in the female lead role in both Tamil and Telungu remakes. Mahesh Babu will play the lead role in Telugu. Hope that Shankar-Vijay team can make a wonder around the comic theme of three idiots.
