IIM-A students to study Rajinikanth’s ‘Enthiran’
Rajinikanth starrer Shankar movie ‘Enthiran’ (Robot) is now a study subject for the students of Indian Institute of Management, Ahemadabad. The movie is included in the syllabus of an elective subject ‘The Contemporary Film Industry: A Business Perspective’ of IIM-Ahemadabad.
The movie ‘Enthiran’ produced and distributed by Sun pictures completed its production work in two and half years in a budget of around Rs.162 crores. It was released by the producers themselves in 2,253 screens around the globe. As per reports, the film collected revenue of Rs100 crores in the initial week of its release itself.
The ‘Rajini Effect’ on IIM is not yet over with ‘Enthiran’, as the same subject includes his movie ‘Muthu’ which was dubbed into Japanese later. ‘Muthu’ is a 1995 released Tamil film directed by K.S. Ravikumar and was a remake of ‘Thenmavin Kombathu’, the Malayalam blockbuster movie of 1994 from the Mohanlal- Priyadarshan team.
In both the movies ‘Enthiran’ and ‘Muthu’, the Tamil superstar Rajinikanth played double roles. The students of IIM-A will also study ‘Robot’, the Hindi version of Enthiran.
