The dimpled beauty of Bollywood, Ms Preity Zinta was recently honoured with a Doctorate degree by the University of East London. The accolade is awarded to her for her significant contributions to the Indian film industry and her diligent works as a humanitarian.

Preity’s exemplary performances in films like Veer Zaara and Kal Ho Na Ho contributed to this achievement remarks the critics’ folks. Apart from bagging various best actress awards from within the country, she had starred in a Canadian film Heaven on Earth and had won the 2008 Silver Hugo Award for Lead Actress.

Never to be easily deceived by that stunning beauty, a zealous feminist in her underlined the significance of women empowerment and compulsory education for girls by stating that “the only way you can do that is by ensuring that you are educated.”
