Satyan Anthikkad has always made a mark in the mollywood industry for his soft, satires peppered with quality humour. his new film 'Bhagya Devatha' is another winner among his movies. Here the director revisits his strengths with a sweeping effect, in one of his own best scripts. synopsis
The movie stars Jayaram as Benny, an ambitious young man who runs a franchise for a local television channel. He is always dreaming of making it big someday. As a part of these endeavours, he finds a shortcut -To marry some one whose family can offer him big dowry amount. Benny starts daydreaming on how to utilize the amounts to start fresh business deals which can sustain him in the big league. He finds a Kuttanadan beauty, daisy, a soft hearted girl, whose family is good enough to offer generous amounts as dowry. The marriage of Daisy and Benny takes place as per plans, but Benny never gets the promised dowry as Daisy's family meet with some unexpected backlashes. Benny also finds it tough to move on with his wife, as all his plans backfire. The movies go on to tell how daisy boldly tackles the setbacks in her life, and how she make Benny understand that the strength of relationships can overcome material issues Small surprises are waiting for the viewers towards the end, but the director has managed to can the scene emotionally which made this film watchable.

Venu Nagavally looks accurately as a government employee. The other cast are Innocent as a stage actor, Nedumudi Venu as tourist guide, Mammookoya as fisher man. They all are playing good characters as in many other films. K.P.A.C Lalitha is an important character who plays as the mother of Jayaram and his two sisters.
Nothing special is to be said about the characters or the film except Sathyan’s magical touch.Kaniha has done her role well and has brought freshness to the screen. She is looking beautiful and is acting well.

The movie belongs to the director and the the entire cast who delivers a natural, believable performances through out. Right from the protagonists played by Jayaram and Kaniha to K P A C Lalitha , Mamukoya and Rugmini and a number of new faces,every one in the frame has lived up their best to give reality bites to the environment. Ilayaraja also bring in some of the hummable tunes for the movie.It's music is remarkable.

The name suits well with the story of the film.Even though Bhagyadevatha is a regular film from director Sathyan Anthikad, the subject is well handled and the message is delivered without much preaching. Sathyan has succeeded in gifting the audience their expections from him. . Bhagya devatha is a family entertainment movie with all its perfection for the families of the state.
