‘August 15’ –Mammootty’s sequel to 1988 movie to be released during Christmas
Mammootty‘s action thriller ‘August 15’ is a movie that is expected to release on the third week of December. The movie is directed by Shaji Kailas and produced under M. Mani’s Sunitha productions.
This movie is a sequel to the initial version of ‘August 1’ which was a hit from the Director Sibi Malayil in1988. In August 1, Mammootty played the role of DSP Perumaal of the Crime Branch. Actor Sukumaran played an equally important role in the movie, as the Chief Minister.
The screen play of ‘August 15’ movie is from the same writer of ‘August 1’, U.N Swamy. Cinematographer of the movie is Pradeep Nair. The other actors in the movie will be Nedumudi Venu, Thalaivasal Vijay, Balachandran Chullikkad, Kochu Preman, Lalu Alex, Biju Pappan and Meghna Raj. In ‘August 15’, Nedumudi Venu will play the role of Chief Minister and Mammootty will star as Perumaaal
The last movie from the Mammootty-Kailas- Mani trio ‘Drona 2010’ was a box office failure. This time, the team has come out with more action sequences and suspense in the new movie.
After a long time Mammootty returned to the capital city Trivandrum, for a movie shooting. ‘August 15’ was shot completely in Thiruvananthapuram city. The team of ‘August15’ is expecting the similar acclaim which the original had received in 1988.
