The Story- The film is very special for an unusual reason- Malayalam film industry had started seeking refuge with superstars again. Many new heroes had tried to establish themselves in the industry but had failed due to a variety of reasons. Some simply vanished others were isolated and forcibly removed. But, in such an environment, it takes lot of self-confidence for a director to come up with a film that revolves around two heroines.

Kavya Madhavan and Meera Jasmine play Ganga and Razia respectively. Both live on the shores of two lakes, Kallazhipuzha and Kalpadhipuzha. Both grow up in different environments but both these women face the same kind of problems.

Razia is married to Akbar (played by Dileep in a guest role) and Ganga is married to Raghuram Iyer (Vineeth in a guest role). Both men leave the village to find good jobs and make money. Tragedy strikes both women when they are told that Raghuram Iyer was dead and that Akbar had killed him.

Akbar faces capital punishment for his murder. The law is ready to make an exception to the capital punishment if Ganga, the widow of the victim, is willing to forgive him. When Razia hears this, she meets Ganga to seek her forgiveness. The whole story happens with the rain in the backdrop.

Biju Menon and Salim Kumar play the roles of Akbar's friends, John Kuruvilla and Ilayuppa. Throughout the film, an air of tragedy runs. This is another big risk that the film took when all other films that are becoming hits at the box office are obsessed with humor and lavish songs.

One tends to miss the presence of a villain but fate itself plays the biggest villain in the film.
