During the 70’s Sheela used to sizzle on screen. Sheela
and Prem Nazir was one of the greatest romantic pair in Indian
cinema. They have done over 120 films and created world history.
Sheela who had called it a day and took a retirement more than
a decade ago is back once again in front of the camera with Satyan
Anthikkad’s Manasinakkare with Jayaram and Innocent for
company.
Kochu Thresia (Sheela) is a 60 plus rich lonely lady who is jovial
and talkative living in a huge farmhouse. Her neighbours Reji
(Jayaram) and his father Chacko Mappila (Innocent) are hardworking
and helpful. Thresia has everything but no one to love and care
for her. Slowly Reji wins her over by his good nature and Thresia
helps the father and son by solving their problems. She becomes
very attached to them and what happens in the end forms the rest
of the story. The cast also has Siddique, K.P.A.C.Lalitha, Nedumudi
Venu and Oduvil Unnikrishnan.
According to director Satyan Anthikkad:
“It will be an unusual film that will break the conventional
mould with Sheela staging a fantastic comeback in a character
that suits her to a T”.
Satyan also feels that Reji played by Jayaram
is crucial for the story to move ahead. This film will not only
be a feather on his cap but will fetch him that badly needed hit.
Manasinakkare has music by Ilayaraja and is produced by Subair.
The story, screenplay and dialogues are by Renjan Pramod and camera
is by Azhagappan.
