India, the cell phone world’s next global hub

pokenThe next global hub of the cell world is sure to be India. 90% Indians are soon to have mobile phone connections throughout the country. More than 100 crore mobile phone users are sure to mushroom within four years time. Within one and a half years various small scale cell phone companies have already captured 17% of India’s mobile market.

Shocking indications prove that India has already emerged as a significant competitor in the mobile industry around the world. The Indian market ever dominated by the international brands like Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson has more indigenous labels today. With brands like Karbonn, Micromax, Spice, Lava, Videocon, Onida etc with even the top 3G facilites incorporated, the brands have already de-monopolized the mobile market in the country.

The lower prices of the Indian made mobile phones have in fact accentuated the competition even further. The indigenous cell phones are made out of components imported from China, at a reduced price but at the same time without any compromise in quality.

As India doesn’t have a facility to change the service provider without an apparent change in the number, the Indian markets are all the more benefited. The growing demands largely arising in the mobile market are the following: dual SIM phones, batteries that can retain charge longer, phones with touch screen display, internet access, Wi-fi connectivity, HTML browser, optical track pad, QWERTY keyboard etc.

The smaller scale mobile markets are growingly satisfying many of these needs rather than the nationalized companies and that too in the most cost effective ways. Most of them offer the services at about half the prices compared to other established brands.

Today, the Indian markets have 3G mobiles from a starting range of just Rs 4000. Such youth focused tactics are all centered in small cities and towns than the larger metropolis. India has the fastest growing mobile industry in the world and with such high end changes already that has swept the market, India is going to be the next hub of the cell world!
