Easy to make recipe: Mixed Bean Soup

Here’s a warm and nutritious Bean Soup to send those winter blues flying off your roof. The soup is a perfect dish for a long and weary winter day.

For mixed Bean Soup, you will need:

¼ cup of these beans soaked overnight (Rajma, Kaaramani,Chickpeas, Mochai)

You will also need:

2 each of Onions and Tomatoes, 3 cloves Garlic, 1 Bayleaf, 1’’Cinnamon, 2 Cloves, 1tbsp Oil (Olive oil preferred), 1 tbsp Oregano or Parsley, 3 cups Water, 1 tsp Chilli powder, 2 tsp Coriander powder, ½ tsp Cumin powder and ¼ tsp Masala curry powder, if required

How to prepare:

Take a cooker, heat the oil; add cinnamon, bayleaf, cloves and sauté well. Add the sliced onions to this.

When the onions are fried and starts turning a bit brown, add the thinly sliced tomatoes and chopped garlic and fry

Now add all the remaining powders except parsley and mix with the onions in the cooker. Add the beans, some salt and pour the water into the mix. Now close the cooker and with the whistle on let it cook on high fire for four whistles.

Keep away for sometime and then open the lid carefully. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
