Viswanadhan began his visual
inventions in the pictorial art in figurative drawings, he soon
began his experimentation with abstraction and geometric forms.
In the 60s, inspired by the geometrical ritualistic-magical
diagrams of Kerala, he explored the visual charm inherent
in them. He has pursued this theme over the years with gradual
evolution of form and colour.

The early Paris paintings (1969- 1971), done on large
canvases using a mixed technique, offer a luxurious variety
of colours covering the canvas with exuberant forms.
|
|
|
The 1972 - 1975 paintings were done with acrylic. Geometric
forms outline the works structure in square formats.

|
|
The "prismic paintings" 1976 - 1985 are done
on square canvases. Geometric forms - mazes, triangles and circles
- bring a monumental order to each work. Few colours are used
- bright yellow, Ochre and Brown.

The "white paintings" 1981 - 1984, almost monochromatic
are illuminated by a few touches of orange, yellow or red.

Orange-red-green dominate the paintings of 1989.

The most recent paintings (1995 - 1997) prominence is
