Chief Justice Mrs. KK Usha was born on July 3,1939 in Thrissur as the daughter of late KK Kumaran (who was a Marine Engineer by profession) and Mrs. Leela Kumaran. She had her schooling in Government Girls School, Ernakulam. She graduated from Maharajas College, Ernakulam, in Science and later acquired B.L Degree from Government Law College, Ernakulam. |
| She enrolled in as an advocate in 1961. The very same year she married Mr. K Sukumaran, an Advocate. Initially, they practised in the law concern, Menon and Pai. Later they instituted their own concern, Sukumar and Usha. Sukumaran was elevated as a Judge of the Kerala High Court in 1980 and later as the Judge of the Bombay High Court in 1991. He retired in 1992. Usha was made a Judge in Kerala High Court in March 25, 1991. The couple has two daughters and both are married. |
