Family

C P Ravindran's father, Kizekkekovilakathu Kunjaniyan Thampuran (KCK Raja), was a freedom fighter who had left his college studies in the 1940s to join the struggle for independence. Raja also took part in the self-rule agitation in the then Mysore province and helped form the first trade union of workers at the Kolar gold mines. He had been jailed for both these.

Ravindran's mother, Chittenippattu Puthenveettil Sarojani Amma, is the sister of C P Ramachandran, a veteran journalist and columnist of yesteryears.

He has two sisters, C P Prabhavati and C P Manorema, and two brothers, C P Udayachandran and C P Ajithkumar.

Ravindran lives in Doha, Qatar, with his wife Latha and son Hari, 15.
