He does not represent a constituency in Kerala
nor does he represent his home state at Rajyasabha. Still, he
became Minister of state for Railway and parliamentary affairs
in Vajpayee’s cabinet. And, importantly, done much for his
home state. A series of definite and constructive measures has
made him a familiar name in Kerala.
May be it was connected with his party’s
gameplan to get a foothold in Kerala. But, his development sops
or antics has gone down well with the publics of Kerala, and almost
the every other day he is in Kerala, kicking up some controversial
dust or announcing a new development initiative.
O Rajagopal, the Rajyasabha member of BJP from
Madhyapradesh, is all controversies and much more. He has got
a particular penchant or rather the uncanny knack of being in
the news, all the time and every time.
Adept at the art of dexterity and political game
plan, he is quick to grab any opportunity, and often relegates
his partymen in Kerala to mere spectators, when it comes to issues.
Controversies apart, he has done some good liaison
work for Kerala, and was instrumental in getting many projects
cleared on time, atleast from the ministries which comes directly
under him.
