Awards

Murali is bestowed with “Bharath Award 2001” for his excellent performance in “Neythukaran”.

He bagged five Kerala State Government Film awards for

  • The Best Actor - 2001 (Neythukaran)
  • The Best Actor - 1998 (Thaalolam)
  • The Best Actor - 1996 (Kaanakinavu)
  • The Best Actor - 1992 (Aadharam)
  • The Best supporting Actor - 1989 (Amaram)
He also won Film Fare Award, Madras Film Fan's Association Award and Kerala Film Critics Association award.

His "Vyazha Porul"(Guru means), weekly column published in Malayala Manorama newspaper got the ‘Sivaram Award’ for the best columnist.
