Life and Career

KC Varghese was born in 1952 at Karuvelithara house in Poovam near Kottayam in Kerala 1952 as the son of KM Chacko Karuvelithara and Thresiamma Chacko. He has two brothers and three sisters.

Varghese had his primary education at NSS High School, Changanacherry. He completed his High School education from Government High School, Kunnam, Mavelikkara. He had his intermediate education at NSS College, Ottapalam and graduation in Economics from NSS College, Changanacherry.

Currently, he is working as the Assistant Advertisement Manager in Gulf Times. He also worked as a MAC operator at Cable & Wireless and Qatar Public Telecommunication Corporation apart from being the Executive Director of Gulf India International Company, he also served as the Director of Orchid Construction Company in Kochi, Kerala

Worked as a free-lance Journalist from 80 -2000

He has covered all the important events in the Qatar - Gulf & Middle East for the Malayala Manorama newspaper. As part of his job, he has traveled all over the world and wrote articles about different countries, including Japan, Venice, Monaco, Amsterdam etc. He has also covered Madrid peace conference and Many Arab-Israeli Conferences and GCC conferences. Gulf War after the Kuwait invasion of Iraq, & Mena Conference ( Middle East and North African Summit).

Apart from his activities as a journalist, he has also worked as the Coordinator for the visits of various Ministers and Dignitaries from Kerala/India.

Now he is the President of  Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) which is  the official Cultural wing of  Indian Embassy in  Qatar.

ICC is the  Apex body of all Indian Associations in   Qatar. 

There are about Sixty organizations  representing  180,000 Indians in Qatar, from various  states of India,   are affiliated in ICC.
