Gopala
Pillai is an outstanding Malayalee personality in the United States.
His contributions in the professional and social areas are commendable
and imitable. He
is actively involved in community services and fund raising for
charity. And his love for the community services landed him in the
chair of the celebration committee for the 50th anniversary of India’s
independence in North Texas, where over 80 thousand Indians live.
He
proved his capacity and sagacity by collecting 50 thousand cans
of food for the poor and hungry as part of India’s 50th anniversary
of Independence. Currently, he is engaged with WMC Navakerala projects
such as Mobile Health Care Unit for the elderly and village adoption
programs.
Apart
from this, he is involved in several charity activities with Dallas
Indian Lions Club.
During
the course, he has served as board member of the Delhi Malayalee
Association, Kerala Club of Detroit, Malayalee Association of Houston,
Kerala Civic Organization of Dallas.
He
was twice the President of the Kerala Association of Dallas, and
also served as Vice President and board member of FOKANA, President
of India Association of North Texas, Secretary and President of
World Malayalee Council America Region, Treasurer of Dallas Indian
Lions Club, Board member of the Asian Chamber of Commerce etc.
After,
putting 25 years of work, he is now getting ready to retire in the
next few years as an accomplished lucky father blessed with two
wonderful kids and a wonderful son-in-law.
