Education

Babu Paul had his primary and secondary school education in Kuruppampadi : Government Primary School and MGM High School at Perumbavoor in Ernakulam. His school education was with the scholarship of Maharaja. After studying in Malayalam medium in a remote village he passed the SSLC securing 3rd rank in the state. He was a National Merit scholar at the university. He read at the Union Christian College, Alwaye for two years before moving to College of Engineering, Trivandrum. He was elected to some students’-union office every year that he spent at the university and was the Chief Executive of the Engineering College Students Union in 1961-62. He was graduated in Engineering by the University of Kerala in 1962. He also secured the 1st rank from Madras University for MA. He passed the all India Civil Service Examination in 7th rank and joined Indian Administrative Service in 1964.
