Feet act as the support mechanism for your body each time you walk, dance or even stand. They are the part of the body constantly under stress as we go about our normal lives. Since it is the feet that hold the body weight all day long, it is of utmost importance that you pamper and take real good care of your legs and feet. Whatever be your age, proper foot care is a must to protect you from many foot diseases and to ensure tender healthy feet for life.
BEWARE OF
1. Skin-growths like calluses, corn and dead skin all appear initially as mere skin blotches. If noticed, further examination is a must before they lead to further complications.
2. Ensure that there is no redness or cuticle-swelling. Keep a sharp look-out for brittle or yellowing nails as it will lead to unhealthy feet.
3. The most ignored part of the body- the space between the toes- should be kept clean.
4. There should not be pressure marks on the toes and cracks on the heels.
TIPS ON FOOT CARE
Keeping the skin soft and smooth is important. The skin of your feet should be protected from unhealthy conditions.
1. Wash your feet before retiring to bed
2. Soak your feet in warm water for at least ten minutes three or four times a week.
3. Remove any hard skin with pumice stone or alternately use a foot file to rub your skin very lightly and then rinse well.
4. The presence of corns and calluses are a sure indication that the feet are being over-taxed. Use a callus file immediately after your bath to reduce thickness by filing the affected area gently.
Follow this foot care regimen religiously and see yourself dancing on soft and supple feet. It is said that the cleanliness of the heels is a sure indication of how meticulous and neat the person is. So beware ladies! Don’t let your feet give the wrong impression of you to the onlooker.
