Toyota Prius XW30: Unique in all ways
Toyota Prius XW30 has been released and the car is unique in all ways. Toyota, world’s largest automobile manufacturer, introduced its latest hybrid passenger car, medium sized, the 3rd generation Toyota-Prius (XW30) in India on January 7, 2010 in the auto expo at New Delhi. Toyota Prius is gasoline- electric hybrid car, which is mass produced, first in the world of its kind and released in January 2009 is unique in its features.
Toyota Prius XW30 offers a hybrid Synergy Drive (SND) with a power mode, eco mode and Eclectic Vehicle mode. The 2ZR-FXE gasoline engine of 1.8 liter has a total horse power of 134 hp when adding the power of the electric motor. The electric motor with 650V can produce 60 kW alone. The engine needs no accessory belts, and is the first of its kind with a water pump that helps save fuel. As Toyota claims, it has used ecological bioplastics, from the cellulose in wood or grass instead of using petroleum. The CD player inside is equipped with a radio and has an 8 speaker system. The front ventilated four disk brakes and crash safe body are the other special features of Toyota Prius.
Toyota introduced the first generation of Toyota Prius in 1997 in Japan. In 2001, they introduced it to the world and it has become popular in US as an environment friendly car with comparatively less emissions. Toyota has two other hybrid vehicles named High Lander and Camry and Toyota Sienna will soon join this group.
The Toyota Prius XW30 is available only in two variants, Toyota Prius Z3 and Toyota Prius Z4, priced at 26.55 lakh and 27.86 lakh rupees respectively. The available shades are Silver Metallic, Abyss Grey Metallic, Beige Metallic and White Pearl Crystal Shine with grey or aqua shade for the interiors.
