Skoda brings to India its award winning crossover car, Yeti

skoda-yetiFocusing on safety, space management and off the road capability, Skoda launched Yeti car into the Indian markets in the year 2010. With a powerful Anti-lock Braking System and an Electronic Brake force Distribution, the Skoda Yeti car is designed to work just as well on soft surfaces as on the regular roads. A multitude of electronic stability systems that the Skoda Yeti comes packaged with like the Anti Slip Regulator and Traction Control Systems, guarantee powerful and controlled performance even under stressful driving conditions.

Skoda Yeti is a traveler’s car in every sense. The luggage space in the car can be readjusted to create maximum space and the fixing system comes equipped with hooks and bars to keep the luggage in place. Three independent and fully adjustable rear seats in the car allow ultimate freedom in moving around in the car and hoarding it with equipments and baggage.

The Skoda Yeti has a 4 cylindered and turbocharged diesel engine which is built to achieve a powerful performance and exceedingly good mileage. The car delivers a mileage of approximately 18 km per litre. The turbocharger in the diesel engine ensures that the engine is energy efficient and quick to cool down. This helps the car achieve its advertised 100kmph target speed in less than 11 seconds. The Skoda Yeti car is capable of going at the top speed of 190kmph on open roads. The wide wheel track provides maximum stability to the car while riding on uneven surfaces.

Skoda Yeti has four airbags, two on the front and side of the car interior and also internal curtain air bags. Not just that, Skoda Yeti comes packed with a central infotainment system which is passcode protected. Not to mention the seatbelts in the front and rear as well as the centralized and automated locking unlocking system the car comes with. These features vary according to the two variants of the Skoda Yeti namely, Ambiente and Elegance. The car exterior is dominated by a large grill bordered by classy headlights and powerful extra large fog-lamps.

In India, the major competitors for this crossover car are Tata Safari, and Mahindra’s Scorpio and Bolero. Priced at around 15 lakhs, it is definitely costlier than its SUV counterparts in India, but is able to challenge the existing contenders on the basis of the extra performance and comfort that it engineered to achieve.
