Bookmark and Share

The world’s cheapest car Nano will be called back by the company to install fire safety equipment. The customers of the Nano car have been informed and some Nano cars have been already called back for a free refurbishing process, according to P. M. Telang, the MD, Tata Motors.
There have been reports of yet another Nano car catching fire. This makes a total of 6 similar reports on the Nano car breaking out on fire. It has been found out that the car ‘fires up’ due to electric short-circuits in the manufacturing design. The company has decided to install a fuse which is expected to mitigate the risk of a short-circuit.
Today on the roads, there are more than 70,000 Tata Nano cars. But, the company has not yet decided on the number of cars to be called back.
Speaking at a Press Conference at the time of its launch, the Chairman ofTata Motors, Ratan Tata, had stated that the Nano car has survived many challenges so far on its way to the showrooms. It is hoped that the spirit and innovation of Tata Motors easily rectifies this technical fault and places it back safely on the roads.
