mercedes benz m classMercedes Benz M class Grand has been launched in India. Belonging to the range of Mercedes Benz SUVs launched in the year 1998, the M class luxury SUVs was the first of its kind to auto detect and brake during instances of control loss in the car.

The Mercedes M class that was launched in India in the year 2009, was declared to be a success. The new versions come with a 3 litre, 2987cc power engine. Mercedes’ trademarked seven speed automatic transmission system delivers a maximum torque of 510Newton-meters on 244 horse power.

The wheels are made of light weight alloys, 19” in dimension. The car, of course comes with the Antilock Braking system and the other mechanism which are predictable in a Mercedes Benz edition. The car also has an Electronic Dynamic Handling Control system that was benchmarked by the M class SUVs themselves. This control system can be switched on and off depending on the kind of roads traversed.

The car has a two tone design for color, and even the external mirrors and handles match the body color. The interior of the car is well in compliance with what one may expect from the Mercedes brand. The car additionally has a Thermatic Climate Control System which even allows individual users to set their own temperature zones. As also in the E class Mercedes, the car comes packed with its own Comand APS system catering to multimedia needs of the owner.

There are two versions of the Mercedes M Class that have been released in India namely, the sports version costing around 54.11 lakhs. The executive version priced at 47.91 lakhs. With BMW and Audi cars gaining popularity in India, Mercedes Benz has its hands full trying to take on the competition.
