BMW’s cheapest model strikes India in December
BMW’s cheapest ever SUV, the BMW X1 will be launched this year in India on 23rd December. Following the success of the X5 and X3 series, the X1 series is the next in line to hit Indian roads. Affordable and compact are the two key words to describe the new BMW X1 which looks a lot like a condensed version of the X5.
For the first time in its history, BMW is considering the fine blend of the legendary sturdiness of its previous X models with the sportiness of its many others. The model with its new looks and reduced price tag, is aimed at attracting a wide age group both young and old included.
The BMW X1 is a short car at approximately 4m length. Angular wheel arches and generous ground clearance will any day identify the SUV as belonging to the BMW foyer. The diesel SUV offers the option of both sDrive and xDrive for the first time in a BMW series.
No visible compromises have been made to the inside of the car, to accommodate the new price tag. The interiors have
been furnished with the latest applications, technology and comfort befitting the BMW brand image. Load capacity is 1,350 litres and an optional panoramic sunroof is provided which is electronically operated.
Authorities say that the new BMW X1 has contemporary fuel consumption level and good fuel efficiency. The engine of the BMW X1 is in place so as to allow the customers to choose between 143 and 285 hp. The SUV uses 5.2 litres of petrol every 100 kilometers.
The completely knocked-down BMW X1 will be priced in India at Rs. 25 lakh.
