1. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables--they are low in calories and fat
2. When cooking with oils, use olive oil, canola oil or vegetable oils
3. Include in your diet whole grain foods instead of foods containing white flour
4. Use low fat or skim dairy products
5. Cook with lean meats, such as chicken, fish or turkey
6. On fattier cuts of meat, trim the fat off before consuming it.
Don’ts
1. Intake of too many saturated fats
2. Foods that state they contain partially hydrogenated vegetable oils
3. Regular, full fat dairy products
4. Take red meat
