The Three-Legged Money Frog: Some Dos and Donts
The three-legged money frog is a common gift item today. Belonging to the Chinese culture, receiving the frog often leaves a person confused as to what its significance is, where to position it and the like. The three-legged money frog is one of the most positive symbols in the Chinese culture. The frog is sculpted as being seated on a cushion adorned with gold coins and jewelry.
As is quite obvious from the name, the three-legged frog is a symbol of prosperity. It is placed in the house with the purpose bringing money and good health. It also protects the family members from any impending hardship.
The Feng Shui three-legged money frog can be positioned in the workplace, offices and homes provided it is positioned carefully. The frog has to be kept in corners in the room or in a corner which is adjacent to the main entrance.
The three-legged money frog need not be placed in a visible position. The ideal position is on the ground, next to the main entrance or may be even on the lower shelf.
It needs to be remembered that since the three-legged money frog symbolizes the flow of money, it should be kept facing inwards to the house. In no case should it be kept opposite the main door and facing it, as this symbolizes money leaving the house.
The three-legged money frog should never be kept in the bathroom, bedroom, dining room or kitchen. It can be kept near cash registers, in the case of businesses.
A maximum number of 9 three-legged money frogs can be placed at one time. If this number exceeds, it needs to be in the multiples of the number 9.
