A holiday home out of your vacant house:
Part 1: Decorating the living room
Part 1: Decorating the living room
Convert your spare house into a holiday home. Today many of us are settled outside our native places. Quite a few of us often have a traditional home or a villa in country side which we visit on a short term basis probably once in a year or so. A convenient option in such cases is to convert this home into a holiday home which can be rented out to a tourist on a need basis. This method of rental especially fetches good returns if the to-be holiday home is located in the countryside within the range of obtaining a good view of lakes, woods or mountains.
To turn a house into a holiday home no high priced investments are required. Interior decoration can be carried out in a simplistic manner by arranging the furniture in the house in such a manner that the rooms do not look cluttered. Here are some tips on how to go about your living room decorations.
Too many furniture and decorations make the room appear small and congested. In the living room a theme such as white and green can be adopted so that the furniture, curtains and wall hangings appear to be a part of the same picture. The furniture in the living room should be well balanced with each other and it helps to stick to a standard arrangement consisting of a sofa, two chairs, one small coffee table and a wall table placed near the side wall of the living room.
Interior walls play an important part in increasing the appeal of the living room. Paintings are the best way to decorate the living room, but it is best to remember that one big painting on one wall should be balanced out by two or three small paintings in the opposite wall. At no time should the walls appear cluttered with paintings. It should be kept in mind that when multiple paintings are placed side by side, it looks better if they are connected to each other by a common theme. For instance, mythology vs middle-ages can be a theme that is common to all the paintings in one room.
