FOMA is vigilant on the Direct Tax Code, as the implementation of this will cause a great trouble for Keralites in U.S

The Draft Direct Tax code, expected to be implemented on 2012 April, is a part of the updating the Indian Income Tax act of 1961 by the Government of India. As per the Section IV of the Direct Tax Code, Not ordinary residency category will be stroke out. This will replace the system of 182 days of residency by 60 days and 365 days within 4 year residency, schemes. So this will affect especially the Keralites in USA.

FOMA frequently contacts the Parliament members like K.C Venugopal and Anto Antony for further decisions on the bill. FOMA also activated their programs to protest against the new bill.
