A combination of electronic and physical services, ePost service requires the companies to set up and activate an account with the Post Office as an initial step. This can be availed free of cost by the company.

To avail the service, the company will then have to send across an email to the Post Office department which will contain the data or the message that needs to be passed on and the description of the service they wish to attain. The postal authorities will then design and print the content as per the requirements and then deliver the content to the destination as a hard copy. ePost services in general cost Rupees 10 for a standard issue print of A4 size; this can be reduced to just Rupees 6 if the service is availed via a prepaid card.

The service supports all letter formats including illustrations, diagrams and across language platforms which are to be sent to the Post Office by scanning. For its general customers, ePost even covers email deliveries, in which case a direct copy will be emailed to the recipients and no hard copy will be printed. This can prove useful in the case of the recipient being located on a global platform.

For a general ePost services, given that the sender has no internet connection available, he can go to the nearest Post Office and get a message booked to the effect. The Post Office will convey the message to the nearest ePost center within a day, which will in turn print and deliver the final letter. Undelivered letters will be returned to the sender or corporate in its hard copy form.
