Now you can make STD calls at local rates, thanks to the new Tariff plans from BSNL. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has cut its STD call charges from BSNL landline to local call rates. The pulse rate of each call to any BSNL landline inside the country is now 3 minutes; previously it was one minute.

As per TRAI, India has around 36 million fixed landline connections among which almost 74% belongs to BSNL. And the rest are with MTNL-BSNL’s service in Delhi and Mumbai, Reliance, Tata and Bharti Airtel.

Under the ‘Pyari Jodi’ scheme of BSNL, which had been launched in October every customer will get a free BSNL mobile phone SIM with the number of the landline. The ‘Pyari Jodi’ offers unlimited free calls to the land line and free national and local SMSes, 1000 SMS each.

As per the BSNL authorities the new schemes are for getting more customers by catering to their needs using low call rates and good voice quality.
