Kochi IPL team will play in IPL season 4

In a pleasant turn of events, Kochi IPL team will play in the 4th edition of IPL. BCCI has approved the structure of ownership and the team is now officially in place. Overwhelmed by the victory, MP Shashi Tharoor has stated that this was indeed a great moment for Kerala.

The Kochi IPL team will now have only 10% sweat shares from the earlier 25%. Regarding the ownership of the team, certain internal compromises have been made.

The Kochi IPL team was the brainchild of Shashi Tharoor who was the erstwhile Minister of State for External Affairs in Kerala. The team, amidst all the controversies, had remained the hobbyhorse of the media for many months and Shashi Tharoor himself continued to show keen interest in the outcome of the prolonged ordeal.
