Kerala team wins its first medals in Asian Games. In Asian Games as India gains a double bonus of two silver medals for rowing at Guangzhou, the Malayalees Janil Krishna and Saji Thomas strike their first luck for Kerala.

The team Coxless four and team Light weight won silver medals at the 16th Asian Games held at Guangzhou yesterday. Ranjith Singh, Anil Kumar, Janil Krishna and Saji Thomas forming the members of the former team and the latter comprising of Lokesh Kumar, Manjith Singh, Rajesh Kumar Yadav and Satheesh Joshi.

The medals gained by Janil Krishna and Saji Thomas are the first ever silver achievements by Keralites in Asian games. With one gold, seven silver and eight bronze, India is in the 12th position at the Asian games.
