International Film festival of Kerala to showcase 190 films

International Film festival of Kerala will showcase 190 films across a span of 8 days. India’s popular actress of yesteryears, Waheeda Rehman will inaugurate the event which will commence on 10th December. The movies will be showcased in 10 theatres across the city.

This time around, the International Film Festival will showcase a retrospective on renowned German film maker Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Malayalam film director T.V. Chandran’s work will also be screened in a dedicated segment of the festival.

14 movies from across the world will be selected and screened during the event. The event will also reward the winner of the best film award with a cash prize of Rupees 15 lakhs. Other Malayalam films which have been selected to be showcased will be awarded a special prize of Rupees 1 lakh each. The selected movies will also be given subtitles and sent to other national and international film festivals under the supervision of the Kerala Film Academy.
