Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode retains its splendor in the summer placements
Active participation of leading National and International firms in the summer placement process of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, indicates optimistic signs from the industrial sector. The average stipend offered by the companies increased over 80%. Around 130 firms from various sectors like software, telecommunications, banking and consumer goods hired students of batch 14 of the Post Graduate Diploma program from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode.
Two month summer placement scheme of some business giants like P&G, HUL, Pepsi co, HSBC, ITC and JP Morgan Chase became an asset to the students of the Indian Institute of Management, especially as the maximum stipend offered was 1.5 lakh Rupees. 25% of the recruitment was for the marketing and sales sector. Titan, Voltas, Tata steel, Coca cola, Marico, Asian Paints were some others who participated in the summer internship program at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode.
In the placements at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode 22% was in the Banking and Financial sector. Deutsche Bank, ICCI, Axis Bank, UTI mutual funds, American Express, Citi, Standard chartered bank, Singhi Advisors are some among the recruiters at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode from the financial sector. Telecommunication industries like Idea and Bharathi Airtel also took part in the process. Software consultant firms like Wipro, Aqua MCG, Littler Associates, and Boston Analytics also played a major part in recruiting interns from the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode. General Management roles offered by the firms were not that too less in comparison with others. Reliance industries limited, Mahindra, L&T, Apollo Hospitals, were among the companies. The Information Technology firms participating were TCS, HCL, Aricent and Cognizant.
As per the officials the new trend among students is to express their interest across previously unexplored arenas of Business and Management studies.
