Catholic Syrian Bank kicks off its 90th Anniversary celebrations
Catholic Syrian Bank of Kerala begins its 90th anniversary celebrations. The bank plans to extend its celebrations upto a period to one month. The bank honoured its earlier chairmen P.D Joseph, N.P Mohanram and N.R Achan on the occasion.
IG of Police Muhammed Yasin , Venkataraman Krishnamurthy, the Director of Catholic Syrian Bank and V.P. Ishwardas, Managind Director and C.E.O of Catholic Syrian Bank addressed the gathering. Iswardas said that during the month long celebrations, Catholic Syrian Bank would launch various customer oriented policies and programmes that would target an overall socio-economic development of the community.
The Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister T.M.K. Nair inaugurated the celebrations. He stated that under development, poverty and unbalanced development are all contributing factors to a rise in terrorism. The banks should target an overall balanced development of the economy and strive for the growth of the economically backward classes, he said. There is an unorganised sector of labourers who play a significant part in contributing to the increase in the nation’s produce. They should be brought to give more to the banking sector in the country.
T.M.K. Nair distributed solar powered lamps to the students belonging to the economically backward classes and lamps to the owners of various street stalls. Around 220 of the lamps were distributed by the bank on its event of its 90th anniversary celebration. The lamps were a part of the Go-Green initiative launched by the bank as a part of the celebrations.
