101 kg-golden Grand Kerala Shopping Festival from December 1
The 4th Grand Kerala Shopping Festival this year, will flag off on the first of December at Palakkad. Achuthanandan, the Kerala CM will inaugurate the festival, said KN.Satheesh the Director, GKSF and K.V.Mohan Kumar, the Convener of the event at a press conference.
Almost 6000 shops and tradesmen have already registered for the festival. 101 kg gold will be handed over as prizes for the festival this year. With 3 winners getting 1kg gold and 6 winners getting half kg gold each, the festival is definitely going to make a real hullabaloo in the state this time. Kerala-made handloom cloth will also form the prizes in the scratch-and-win segment apart from the golden rewards.
The inauguration of the festival will also be chaired by the Minister of Home and Tourism, Industries Minister, Finance Minister and Minister of Electricity. A ‘Thayambaka’ concert, a spotlight ‘Ganamela’ with an array of top playback singers of the state along with a classical dance performance by Manjula Ramaswamy will spice up the ceremony with all grandeur, believe the authorities.
