Mammootty will be playing the lead role in ‘Karuna’, the film based on Kumaranasan’s celebrated work. It is the new attempt of K. M. Madhusoodhanan who directed Bioscope that was widely applauded.

In the film Mammootty takes the role of a filmmaker who tries to depict Karuna. The film presents the complex temperament of a human being who follows the vision of Buddha. The ancient cities of North India and the paintings of Ajantha also paved the backdrop of this film. The story, screenplay and dialogue are penned by the director Madhusoodhanan. M. J. Radhakrishnan cranks camera of this film which starts in December.
