Government opens the Museum road, Trivandrum for morning walk
Bookmark and Share

The most beautifully laid out road in Trivandrum from Vellayambalam to Museum is open for all those who go for a morning walk. The octogenarian Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan took the initiative to be the first to walk through the empty road today.

All vehicles are banned between 5 am and 7 am through this road. This is on experimental basis for three months. The habitual VIPs and common morning walkers used the Museum and Kanakakkunnu Palace road premises till today. The roads were not safe as many met with accidents. Those who wanted to live had abrupt interruptions. VIPs were not spared. The former MP Varkala Radhakrishnan passed away recently in one of such road accidents during his regular morning walk.

Government wants the people to make morning walk on the road a lifestyle .The stadiums also are going to be opened for the morning walkers. The Government of Kerala though likely to be voted out from power in a few months is irresistible sometimes.
