Malayalam actors and their Twitter trends

For Malayalam actors it seems Twitter is the new in-thing. Mohanlal, Mammootty and Prithviraj are only few of the actors in Malayalam cinema who have grown fond of Twitter in the past few months.

“True loving is not a passive 'taking but a dynamic 'giving'”, the last tweet from the most celebrated superstar Mohanlal shows that he is quite intimate with his fans on Twitter and that he shares a special thought with them frequently on Twitter. He has 39,241 followers and 60 tweets so far.

The veteran superstar, Mammootty too seems to have been bitten by the ‘tweet-bug’. Followers are a little less than Mohanlal’s, 28834 only. But he has184 tweets so far and follows only the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. His tweets however are very formal, much different from those of Mohanlal.

The young star Prithviraj has 198 tweets so far, as he active as an actor on twitter. And the number of followers crossed 16726 in number. The junior actresses too like Archana Kavi, Reema, Bhavana have Twitter profiles. Not only actors, many of the directors like Santhosh Sivan are now active in this popular social networking site.

The stars of the silver screen have become more accessible through social networking sites such as Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter. Twitter nowadays has gained in popularity among the Malayalam stars, probably following the footsteps of their Bollywood counterparts like Amitabh Bachchan and Sharukh Khan. Fans too are extremely happy with the new trend.

With so many fake profiles of stars in social networking sites, the real challenge now for the average fan is spotting the authentic profile of the celebrity.
