The 15th IFFK 2010 will witness the power and prowess ofIndian cinema with the “Indian cinema now,” a category devoted to seven most noted Indian films comprising of four Hindi films,and a film each from Bengali, Kannada and Marathi language.
Films like ”I am Kalam”,”Love sex aurdhoka”, ”Memories in March”,”Metropolis@Kolkata”,”Natarang”,”Riding the stallion of a dream”and”Udaan” will smash the theatres.The films area perfect paradigm of modern day film production and film language explored by the modern film makers of India.
I amKalam portrays the aspirations of a youth who after hearing Dr.A.P.J AbdulKalam models himself as Kalam.The film directed by NilaMadhabPandu had won best feature film award inLucas film festival.Love sex aurdhoka is a satirical piece on the present social
scenario represented by media,love and caste.The film was directed by DibakarBanarjee.
Memories in March is a Bengali film directed bySanjoy Nag which proposes the idea that memories of a person can’t be erased even if he is no more.Metropolis @Kolkota directed by Sumanmukhopadhya depicts the beauty of kolkota and its impact on the life of the people whose hearts lies very much close to the city.
Natarang is aMarathi film directed by Ravi jadhav that narrates the perilious journey ofa theatre artist to achieve his dream.Riding the stallion of a dreamdirected by Girishkasaravalli narrates the story of a poor couple’slife shattered by their belief and customs.Udaan is Hindi cinemadirected by VikramadityaMotvane which tells the life of a teenager which takes a u turn after he is caught red hand while watching aporno material.The package of Indian films will project a crosssection of country which is quite unique in its culture andphilosophy.
With a judicious blend of contemporary and Indian cinema, “Indian Cinema Now” is going to be one of the star highlights of 15th IFFK 2010.
