Poetry in foot taps: “Amma” dance to honour O.N.V.Kurup


As a mark of honouring the Jnanpeeth awardee, the renowned writer of Malayalam O.N.V.Kurup, the Kerala Kalamandalam is presenting a dance form “Amma” at the Inaugural ceremony of the 15th International Film Festival 2010.

This 28 minute dance programme will be based on the well-known poem of O.N.V.Kurup, “Amma”. The dance form that is composed by Kalamandalam artiste Hemalatha will have the Kalamandalam students also performing in the item.

The music composed by Vayalar Rajendran is given voice by Rajeev and Ambika. The dance performance will be held soon after the inaugural ceremony is over at the Nishagandhi open air auditorium.
