IFFK Venues- The abode of sprouting friendships


What does IFFK stand for? The International Film Festival of Keralacertainly corresponds to bringing down reel life to the real world. Itportrays the life of people all around the globe. It projects the explicit beauty of human creativity. Anything more to add? You iffk friendscan’t simply ignore the circle of friendship that the film festival creates. In otherwords, we can put it together like this, Intimatefriends’ festival of Kerala.

Sayani from Lucknow, who is doing her PhD in Chennai, has visited the 13th and 14th editions of IFFK.Whenever she comes to this city she stays with her north Indian friendswhom she had met in the festival. “This time also I am looking forward to spend some nice time with them staying at their ladies hostel,”she says. “We met in 2008.Missing the friends is a great pain. Some of my friends who completed their B.tech had already left the city. So circumference of friendship circle is less this time” she explains.

The festival has become the breeding ground of friendship to so many. Students from various parts of the country come to the attend the festival. They enjoy the festival days merrily. Asthe courses in film and journalism has become a much sought after subject in the academies, the participation of youth in the fest is tremendously increasing every year. Sabdeep,Sreejith,Anirop and Raf, the thick friends hailing from Ernakulam have already rented a room in statue. During the fest days, theygo out early in the morning with a list of film they prefer to watch. “It’s not that we are taking our studies lightly instead,we would like to tap its joyous side”, they said.

The newly formed friends will together hang out at the scenic landscape of kerala as soon as the festival is over. As they finally return to their homes, it is as if cherishing those sweet memories, they are awaiting for the next misty December, to be back again at Ananthapuri, to reunite with their festival pals.
