The best film of the 15th IFFK screened at Nishagandi
The best film at the 15th International Film Festival of Kerala that was bagged by the Spanish film, “Portraits in a Sea of Lies” was screened at the Nishagandhi open auditorium, Trivandrum, soon after the closing ceremony. The film tells the story of two cousins who take a journey to recover their grandfather’s land in a civil-war torn Columbia.

The Suvarna Chakoram and Rs 15 lakhs for the Best Film was awarded to the director Carlos Gaviria for the Spanish film, “Portraits in a Sea of Lies” at the closing ceremony of the 15th International Film Festival of Kerala. The best Malayalam film was awarded to Dr. Biju’s Veetilekkulla Vazhi. The awards were presented by the President of the festival at the Nishagandhi auditorium in the closing ceremony of the 15th IFFK. Well-known film maker Santhosh Shivan and his wife, the renowned cine artiste Suhasini were the chief guests of the function.
15th IFFK concludes; Golden Crow Pheasant to ‘Portraits In a Sea of Lies’
The concluding ceremony of IFFK hosted the distribution of awards, the ‘Suvarna Chakoram’ or Golden Crow Pheasant went to ‘Portraits In a Sea of Lies’. The ‘Rajata Chakoram’ or the Silver Crow Pheasant award for best direction went to Julia Solomonoff for ‘The Last Summer of La Boyita’.
15th IFFK: The week of wonders concludes; Golden Crow Pheasant to be awarded today
The concluding ceremony of the 15th IFFK will be conducted at the Nishagandhi Auditorium today. In a week’s span, the festival has managed to screen 203 films from 83 countries in theatres around Trivandrum city.
