“Celebrities Speak” with Keerthy Ramachandran
Shyama Prasad, Well-known director [ Elektra- 15th IFFK]I am greatly excited today, as this is the first screening of my film in Kerala. It was released at the IFFI Goa and we had received great response, yet I am anxiously awaiting the reaction of the Malayalees. The casting of the film with ManishaKoirala, Prakash Raj and Nayanthara had already drawn considerable attention from the audience. Still the large crowds at the theatre have left me bowled over. Elektra would be one of those few films which has got this huge rush at any International Film Festival.
Renjith, Prominent director [PaleriManikkyam- 15thIFFK ]This time though my film has found a place in the Competition section of the IFFK, I am not the least concerned about the honours, but it’s my earnest attempt to bring out a unique film. I had never expected any honours while I was making my film, “PaleriManikkyam, OruPaathiraKolapaathakathinte Katha”, and the three awards it bagged in the Kerala State Film Festival was totally unexpected. Still, being here at the 15th International Film Festival of Kerala with one of my most favourite movies is really wonderful.
K.Madhu, Leading film makerAs I was busy with my shoot of an upcoming project, I couldn’t watch much movies at the IFFK. I had seen Lenin Rajendran’s “Makaramanju” which is a really good venture. This time Malayalees have a very proud reason to visit the IFFK with two of the Malayalam movies negotiating a space at the competition section. There had been many times when not even a single movie was there in the competition section. This time, it s really great to see Malayalam films vying their merit at the International Film Festival of Kerala.
Suresh Kumar, well-known producer and the General Secretary of All Kerala Producer’s AssociationThis time, with the several new film packages, IFFK has startling attraction. Bicentennial films, Forget Africa and Flamenco films have all enriched the film viewing experience this time. The entire world panorama is spread here that the viewers are left with umpteenth choices to enjoy quality cinema.
